A Small Rant About Serial Killers Un-prompted

 

There are distinct links between the pathology of serial killers and their childhoods. Either an over-attachment to a parent, tough childhood, or seeing a parent (mostly the mother) in a sexual way either through prostitution or witnessing other extreme sexual or violent behaviour at a young age. 

They can either be very intelligent and show promise academically or struggle with a low IQ. The former fits into the more sociopathic spectrum and the latter can struggle with social situations and can struggle to keep long term relationships. 

Mothers inflicting humiliation on sons can instil a feeling of inferiority, frustrations and difficulties with sexuality, constantly battling a feeling of worthlessness. (Ed Kemper)

The links between isolation, lonely childhoods, homeschooling, animal cruelty and neglect having a negative effect in the development of the mind. Animal cruelty at a young age can show a lack of empathy a distancing of emotion to pain.

Army backgrounds are also a common feature in serial killers, a desire to implant themselves into law enforcement to quench their desire for power.
